Related Conditions Overview

Understanding conditions commonly associated with ADPKD: polycystic liver disease, hypertension, urinary tract infections, and more.

⚠ Medical Safety Notice

Management of related conditions requires collaboration with your nephrologist and appropriate specialists. Do not self-medicate or delay seeking care.

Polycystic Liver Disease (PLD)

Approximately 70-80% of ADPKD patients also have liver cysts. Liver cysts typically do not affect liver function, but large cysts can cause abdominal bloating, pain, and early satiety.

Hypertension

Hypertension is the most common cardiovascular complication of ADPKD, affecting 50-70% of patients. It can accelerate kidney function decline and is a key treatment target.
